Timeline to Use Our Service.
Planning and Preparation
- Create a Moving Checklist: List all tasks that need to be completed before, during, and after the move.
- Set a Moving Budget: Estimate the costs associated with moving, including hiring movers, purchasing packing supplies, and any travel expenses.
- Choose a Moving Date: Select a date that works best for you, considering factors like work schedules, school calendars, and availability of movers.
Decluttering and Sorting
- Sort Through Belongings: Go through each room and decide what to keep, donate, sell, or discard.
- Hold a Garage Sale or Donate: Sell unwanted items or donate them to charity to lighten your load and possibly earn some extra cash.
Hiring a Moving Company
- Rock Point Movers: This is where we come in contact us and we will give you ar reasonable Qoutation.
- Book Your Movers: Once we agree you book us in advance and we will show up on the appointed date.
Packing
- Gather Packing Supplies: We will come with collect boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, and markers.
- Pack Non-Essential Items First: We will start with items you won’t need immediately, such as seasonal clothing, books, and decorations.
- Label Boxes: We clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs in to make unpacking easier.
Preparing for Moving Day
- Confirm Details with Movers: Reconfirm the moving date, time, and any specific instructions with your moving company.
- Arrange Childcare and Pet Care: Make arrangements for children and pets to be cared for on moving day to ensure their safety and reduce stress.
- Prepare Your New Home: Clean your new home and ensure utilities are set up and functioning before moving in.
Moving Day
- Supervise the Move: Be present to oversee the loading of your belongings, address any questions or concerns, and ensure everything is handled with care.
- Final Walkthrough: Do a final check of your old home to ensure nothing is left behind, and lock all doors and windows.
Unpacking and Setting Up
- Unload and Inspect: Upon arrival at your new home, supervise the unloading process and check for any damages or missing items.
- Unpack Essentials First: Start with essential items and gradually unpack room by room, prioritizing areas like the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
